Accelerating Action: Celebrating International Women's Day 2025

mayantechs

Every year on March 8, the world comes together to celebrate International Women's Day (IWD), a day dedicated to recognizing the achievements of women and advocating for gender equality. This year’s theme, 'Accelerate Action', serves as a powerful call to push forward with greater urgency, ensuring that progress towards gender parity doesn’t take generations, but happens now.

The Importance of Accelerating Action

At the current pace, full gender equality won’t be achieved until 2158—over 130 years from today. That’s five generations too long. The reality is that systemic barriers, biases, and gender disparities still hinder women's growth in various industries, especially in traditionally male-dominated fields like technology.

To truly Accelerate Action, we must amplify the strategies that work, elevate the voices of women in leadership, and break down the barriers that continue to exist in workplaces and communities. This means not only creating opportunities but actively fostering environments where women can thrive, lead, and shape the future.

Mayan Technologies: A Commitment to Gender Equality

At Mayan Technologies, we take this responsibility seriously. As a company that specializes in ERP solutions (Epicor) and staffing, we understand the critical role that diversity plays in innovation and success. Women are an integral part of our workforce, making up 46% of our team—a figure well above the tech industry average. More notably, women hold key leadership roles across the company. Out of our six partners, four are women, and among our seven leadership positions, four are filled by women. This strong representation at the top underscores our commitment to fostering an inclusive and empowering workplace.

We don’t just believe in gender equality; we practice it daily by ensuring that women have the resources, support, and leadership pathways they deserve. Whether it’s through mentorship, career development, or fostering an inclusive workplace, Mayan Technologies is committed to empowering women in tech and beyond.

Voices of Women at Mayan Technologies

Progress doesn’t happen by standing still—it happens when we accelerate action, lift each other up, and create opportunities for growth. At Mayan Technologies, we’re proud to have a team of incredible women who are making an impact every day. Here’s what they have to say about driving progress, breaking barriers, and shaping the future.

Dora Chavarria | Enterprise Solutions Manager and Partner As the Enterprise Solutions Manager and Partner at Mayan Technologies, I have the privilege of leading our technical team, ensuring we deliver innovative solutions while fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. True change happens when we uplift each other, challenge the status quo, and lead with confidence. Today and every day, let’s continue to push boundaries, support one another, and create a future where equality isn’t the exception—it’s the norm.

Daniela Rdz. | HR & Team Services Specialist My role as part of the Admin team involves supporting HR operations, employee services initiatives, and assisting with company events.

At Mayan Technologies, I have found a place where I feel capable, confident, and safe as a woman. The mentorship I’ve received has significantly influenced my growth and inspired me to strive for improvement and uplift others in our community. I am proud to be part of a company that empowers women to embrace opportunities and succeed in their endeavors.

Jessica Prieto | VP of Marketing & Operations At Mayan Technologies, I have the opportunity to drive both strategic growth and operational excellence, ensuring that our team is supported, our brand is strong, and our mission stays on course.

For me, accelerating action isn’t just about big moves—it’s about the small, consistent efforts that create lasting impact. Whether it’s amplifying voices, fostering inclusivity, or driving meaningful change, progress happens when we refuse to stand still. I’m proud to be part of a company that values momentum and empowers its people to push forward every day.

Lizbeth Aleman | Consultant Enterprise Solutions, Epicor The growth of women in technology is not just a goal, it is a necessity for innovation. At Mayan, I found a space where female talent and leadership are valued, paving the way for more women to transform the industry with their vision and talent.

Marianne Hdz | CAM, Principal Ops Consultant, Partner Being a woman in the tech field is an incredible opportunity to innovate and shape the future. However, it also comes with challenges, as the industry remains mostly male-dominated. Women often find themselves having to work harder to prove their abilities and combat stereotypes. Despite the challenges, I am incredibly proud of my work at Mayan, and I hope to serve as an inspiration for future generations of women in IT, showing them that they too can thrive and make a lasting impact.

Mariana Romualdo | Jr. Tech Consultan, CS and Dev Before entering the workforce, I often heard that men dominated the tech industry. However, my experience in the field has shown me that this is changing, thanks to women who have stood out for their skills and results. As a developer, I’ve found that training, teamwork, and challenges are essential for building new skills and growing professionally. At Mayan Technologies I’ve had the opportunity to meet women leaders and innovators, whose careers are truly inspiring and a great source of motivation for me.

Vanessa Lozano| HR & Team Services Associate I handle tasks like managing databases, coordinating events, and supporting team communication. 'Accelerate Action' It's about creating a supportive environment and driving change by connecting people and promoting collaboration.

"Empowering women means supporting their growth in all areas of life whether as daughters, wives, mothers, or professionals by providing opportunities to thrive personally and professionally"

Victoria Sanchez| Ops Consultant Being a woman and a working mom can be a challenge, and sometimes it may be seen as a barrier. However, I am proud to see that at Mayan Technologies, it is something that is celebrated. Over the past two years in the company, I have witnessed how women are empowered, respected, and given real opportunities, regardless of their personal or family situation. At Mayan Technologies, the only things that matter are your work, results and your attitude.

Valentina Storey| Graphic Designer Creativity is more than design—it’s a way to drive change. Through video and visuals, I help tell stories that inspire action and amplify voices. At Mayan Technologies, I’m proud to be part of a team where women’s ideas, leadership, and creativity push innovation forward every day.

Viviana Vega| Partner, Professional Services Growing in tech isn't just about skills—it's about having a space where ideas are valued, and opportunities are equal. At Mayan Technologies, women like me have the chance to grow into decision-making roles, where our voices are heard, and our impact is real.

Supporting the Supporters

This year, IWD encourages businesses and individuals to Support the Supporters—those organizations and initiatives that make a tangible impact in the fight for gender equality. At Mayan Technologies, we echo this call to action. We encourage our team, partners, and community to contribute to women-focused initiatives, support women-led businesses, and mentor the next generation of leaders.

Together, Let’s Accelerate Action

The journey toward gender equality is one we must all walk together. By recognizing the contributions of women in tech, advocating for equitable opportunities, and continuously challenging outdated norms, we Accelerate Action for a more inclusive and progressive future.

At Mayan Technologies, we’re proud to stand at the forefront of this movement—not just on International Women’s Day, but every day.

Join us in celebrating the women who shape our industry, our company, and our future. Let’s #AccelerateAction for gender equality!
